worst riding conditions yet!!!
Yesterday was brutal! I only did about 18 miles for the day but 13 of those were hills with rain! Tons of rain! It started out with a light shower so I thought it would pass shortly and anything that got damp would dry out in notime at all.. Boy was I wrong! So after my genious idea of letting the riding clothes I had on and a lot of other gear get wet, then I covered eveything, but it didn't help much at that point! Of coarse I endured and pushed through, conquering one hill after anothet with my 250+ lb. Rig! But as the rain continued to pour and the temp droped, Rad wined and shivered! My legs were about done and I relized I wouldn be able to get my gear dry at camp to keep warm through the night! I came to the realization that I was goin to have to do what I have always oposed when it comes to traveling!, I got a motel... Super 8 motel in Shelton WA off 101! I tell you what! That was the most luxurious motel experience of my life! Did you know they have hot water? Towels, a bed, oh and even tv! Rad and I slept like kings last night!...

thank you continued...
So, in all that, my aim was to say that I do have times and days that are exremely difficult! and to hear from someone I have met or someone who has been directed to my blog, when I receive words of encouragement of hear that what Rad and I are doing has inspired or just connected with someone.. I am truely motivated and encouraged! Thank you all I consider you friends to both Rad and myself, you all are welcome to join our campsite anytime!
thanks to all support
Just wanted to thank all of you from back home and/or especially those whom I have met on the road for any comments or emails. I am lovin this journey more than I can express from this little blackberry phone! But don't let my words lead you to think its all flowers, wine, sunshine, and down hill coasts that I spread my arms to feel as if I was on the titanic yellin "I'm on top of the world!" I love to tell of those moments, but the reality of most of the time is on a different scale altogether.! For those of you who were not aware that the earth has hills and some pretty freakin steep hills at that! Well there are, and they aren't easy! Its a challenge I face almost everyday! Imagine peddlin a 300 pound motorcycle up a hill.. Very unlikely! So, my point is I spend a lot of hours pushing my rig up hills that once seemed minute to me in a car, now take a couple hours of huffin and puffin just to get a maybe 5 minute coast down before doin all over again!
wine, fire, and paint
These are my moments that make this journey worth while! Rad and I are camped just west of seatle in a small site of the beaten path, I have all supplies organized, a fire to keep us warm, just road into town today to buy a bottle of red wine, just lit the cigar, the easil and paints are out and I've got about 6 oil paintings started and a stack of books next to the tent waiting patiently for my attention...life is beautiful.
frisbe time!!
Rad caught his first frisbe a couple days ago! It was just like what you would see on tv, he jumped clear into the air clinched his jaws on that piece of plastic, shook it as if he had caught a duck! And landed like he was doin flips in the olympics! I'm one lucky dad! I will post some pics later...

washington
I finally made it to tacoma washington last week! After going to a friends wedding I took off to the open road once again! Oh how refreshing it was to smell the pavement at 3 miles an hour compared to the 95 mph that brought rad and I from Colorado to here!
